The Toppers want to keep the number of bowl eligible teams no higher than 70.

Team No. 62---Central Michigan, IN after 11/23 win over UMass.

Team No. 63---WVU, IN after 11/23 win over Iowa State.

Team No. 64----Virginia Tech, IN after 11/24 win over Virginia.

Team No. 65----Purdue, IN after 11/24 win over IU.

Team No. 66----SMU, IN after 11/24 win over Tulsa.

Team No. 67---Baylor, IN after 11/24 win over Texas Tech.

Team No. 68---Michigan State, IN after 11/24 win over Minnesota.

Team No. 69---Ole Miss, IN after 11/24 win over Miss St.

Team No. 70---Rice, IN after 11/24 win over UTEP.


Quick Breakdown:


Probable (75% or greater chance) to earn eligibility: Pitt (71).

Doubtful (25% or less chance) to earn eligibility: UConn, Georgia Tech.



UConn (5-6): W over Cincinnati (8-3) next week earns eligibility.

Pitt (5-6): W over USF (3-8) next week earns eligibility.


Georgia Tech (6-6) win over FSU (10-2) in ACC Championship earns eligibility.

Pretty sure Georgia Tech is eligible win or lose.  The NCAA makes an exception for a six win team that ends up with a losing record only because of a loss in a conference championship game.

Right, that's what happened with UCLA last year.

But according to a few articles on ESPN, specifically this one, the rules were changed this summer, and that link shows the supposed order of priority.

I guess we'll see, should be an interesting several days in Hilltopper land!

Criminal if a team with a losing record gets a bowl bid over a 7-5 team....   especially one that was white-washed by MTSU in Atlanta.
