Frankfort (KY) wide receiver Aaron "Action" Jackson made his commitment to Western Kentucky official on Tuesday night, via Twitter.
I caught up with the most recent verbal commit to get his comments on becoming a Hilltopper.
"On Monday, coach (Mike) Cassity came by the house and he was talking to me about the offense, playing time, and the school. I was like, I think it's (WKU) the right spot for me."
I asked Jackson his impressions of the offense that he will now become a part of.
"I know all they're going to do is sling it around and throw it around, his (Petrino's) offense is exciting, their staff is real nice from the receivers coach Lamar Thomas to Jeff Brohm and all of them, I think it's something special down there."
Jackson is no stranger to the campus of WKU, having already made an appearance on a junior day visit and an unofficial visit during his recruiting process.
His official appearance to WKU is set for this weekend.
The 6-foot-3, 190-pounder posted 53 catches for 1,361 yards and 19 touchdowns for the Panthers this past season. He averaged a mind-boggling 25.67 yards per catch! Even the Minnesota Vikings era Randy Moss is impressed with that stat.
Jackson possesses tremendous speed (4.48 in the 40-yard dash) to separate himself from defenders and his height means he is very difficult to defend one-on-one. Combine those attributes with his great hands and you have a very, very dangerous receiver.
I asked Jackson what skills he'd like to improve on once he gets to the college level.
"I think I can improve in my route-running, handling more man-press coverage and I think I can get a little bit quicker and put some more weight on me."
He has received some tremendous feedback from the faithful WKU fans since his announcement on Twitter, "I've been talking to a lot of people from down there and already like all the love and everything they are showing me."
It only gets better on Saturdays in the fall.
Jackson joins Nicholas Norris, Jalen Edwards, and (JUCO) Lonnie Turner as wide receiver commits for the 2013 class. He becomes the 25th overall commitment for WKU.
