A 6-foot-4, 290-pound prospect, Giansante chose the Hilltoppers over a number of FCS level programs and told Inside Hilltopper Sports that multiple factors led to his decision, but most importantly because he felt that he "could learn the most" at WKU with NFL veteran Mike Goff coaching him.

"Coach Goff is a 12-year NFL o-line veteran and pro bowler who has the experience and knowledge I want to tap into," Giansante told IHS. "I think learning from him will provide the best opportunity for me to achieve my goal of playing professionally someday. I really appreciated his early confidence in me to contribute to WKU’s o-line, which was one of the highest ranked units in the FBS last year.

"Coach Goff liked my junior year film and called me with an offer. He has been very accessible and courteous to me and my family, and very easy to talk to."

In addition to Giansante's relationship with Coach Goff, he also said that head coach Tyson Helton has done a "tremendous job turning the program around," and that the social media series the program put together -- labeled "Topper Tips" -- was something that really caught his attention.

"It did a good job showcasing the personalities and teaching styles of the coaching staff," Giansante said. "I thought this is a place I can compete at a high level and have fun doing it."

Giansante also spoke highly of the culture at WKU -- and made sure to include his living arrangements.

"My mom and I look at team rosters to see if the players are smiling. She says it shows confidence and they are happy to be where they are at. We noticed all of the WKU players are smiling in their head shots," Giansante said.

"I have to mention the all-day dining that’s offered at Hilltopper Hall where freshmen student-athletes live. It’s one of the first things Coach Goff told me about. He knows how to recruit a lineman."

Giansante said he is happy to have his commitment decision in the books so he can now focus on his senior season at Norwin, and because he now knows where'll he be headed after his high school career comes to a close.

"I am honored to become a WKU Hilltopper and doing #WhateverItTakes to win championships," Giansante added.
