South Warren (Ky.) High School was the site of the Border Brawl, a 7-on-7 tournament that featured regional schools from Kentucky and Tennessee area.
The Kentucky schools represented were: Allen County-Scottsville, Bowling Green, Butler County, Christian County, Greenwood, Ohio County, Trigg County, Warren Central, and Logan County.
The schools representing the Volunteer state were: Gallatin, Mount Juliet, Pope John Paul II, Smith County, Springfield, and White House Heritage.
Not only were the skill players on display during 7-on-7 action, but lineman were also busy with crossfit-style challenges that included team truck pulls (yes, actually pulling a truck around the track), a team tug-of-war, and obstacle course challenges.
Some of the intriguing names competing at the event in regards to Western Kentucky recruiting were South Warren's Joel Iyiegbuniwe and Warren Central's duo of Chris Porter-Bunton and Emmitt Smith.

Notes on all three:
- Iyiegbuniwe (or "Iggy" as he is known to most) was solid all day on both sides of the ball, displaying crisp route-running and excelling in pass coverage on defense. He has spent time as a strong safety and is expected to play linebacker this upcoming season. The 2014 prospect currently holds offers from Indiana State, Southern Illinois, and Western Kentucky.
- With the graduation of Michael Bush, Chris Porter-Bunton spent a large portion of the day playing quarterback on offense, a position he is familiar with from his junior varsity days. He was very poised, calm, and confident in his throws - showing off a strong arm with some accurate deep throws. Western Kentucky has shown some interest in Porter-Bunton, who holds an offer from Navy, but Cincinnati is the latest team that has shown significant interest in his skills.
- 7-on-7 tournaments are normally two-hand touch, but there were occasions where Emmitt Smith extended the rules to two-hand shove. The 2015 linebacker is just downright physical, even in a setting that's more about finesse and timing. He also more than held his own surveying and protecting the short passes. Smith is already drawing interest from Western Kentucky, Kentucky, and Ohio State, Tennessee, and Purdue.
