The Western Kentucky commitment train continues to roll on after receiving a verbal pledge from another Peach State prospect in offensive lineman Dennis Edwards of South Gwinnett (Ga.).
Edwards is a 6-foot-2, 315-pound center who displays crisp footwork and punching power as he bursts off the line of scrimmage. Shows great vision, scanning the field before each snap and has confidence in his blocking assignments once it's time to engage with defensive linemen. His tremendous size always helps in those trench battles, but Edwards does a great job of staying low coming out of his stance and gaining an advantage on his opponent.
The rising senior is the first offensive lineman to commit to Western Kentucky's 2014 class, a position that is a need for the Hilltoppers who will lose three linemen after this season in seniors Sean Conway, Ed Hazelett, and Luis Polanco.
Edwards becomes ninth verbal commitment of 2014. He also had an offer from Georgia State with UCF, Mississippi State, and Georgia Tech showing interest.
