STRENGTHS:

• Versatility: This is the first thing that my mind ran to when seeing his play on both sides of the ball. As a receiver, he's a trusted playmaker and as a defender, he's balanced with exceptional ball awareness.

• Deep Threat: I'll say this now - Flowers is a better receiver than he is defender. Can make catches in traffic and accelerate quickly after the catch.

• Field Vision: Has the potential to be an excellent YAC (yards after catch) kind of receiver. Balance is a big proponent of his game and is able to create space.

• Returner Abilities: Another example of his field vision. Flowers can stretch the field and put defenders on skates.

• Stride and Speed: When Flowers breaks free, he has some speed in his long stride. He'll force defenders into a real game of cat-and-mouse.

• Soft Hands and Catch Radius: Catching appears to be second nature and ball security looks to be a strong suit in his game. Can get up and force his will on tough balls.

• Can I Make A Justyn Ross Comparison?: Watching Flowers tape kept bringing Ross to mind. Similar demeanors in their breaks off routes and play in the intermediate game, as well as the field vision and yards-after-catch abilities.

ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT:

• Deep Ball Separation: Flowers will grow in this facet of the game. For now, he plays in an offense led by a quarterback with limited arm strength, and Flowers is the primary threat that every defensive coordinator is game planning for.

• Separation burst in the short game could stand to improve.

• Should primarily take snaps at receiver, though his experience as a defensive back could be a plus.

Overall, Flowers is a huge addition to the Toppers 2024 recruiting class. He'll be joining an offense that has been producing highly-touted pass catchers in the Helton-era, and now Flowers has a chance to continue that legacy.
