Western Kentucky added an intriguing in-state prospect to the 2023 roster on Wednesday, landing 2023 guard Teagan Moore, a rising senior out of Owen County (Ky.).

The 6-foot-5, 210-pound in-state star announced his commitment to the Hilltoppers over social media on Wednesday morning.

Moore spoke with InsideHilltopperSports.com about his commitment to Western Kentucky and revealed what ultimately led to his decision.

He said that in addition to loving the campus and feeling like it was a great fit for him, he said the Hilltoppers played the game like him.

Moore also said that he is incredibly excited about his commitment to the program and is looking forward to working more closely with the coaching staff.

Moore landed himself an offer from the Hilltoppers on June 10 and took an official visit to campus on June 27.

Moore said that in addition to having a few friends going to Western Kentucky, he had a lot of admiration for former WKU forward Carson Williams, who was also recruited by the Hilltoppers out of Owen County High School.

When the Hilltoppers first got involved in his recruitment, Moore conversed with WKU head coach Rick Stansbury and assistant coach Martin Cross. He said that during his official visit, the Hilltoppers' coaching staff made him feel very comfortable and he even managed to catch dinner with WKU guard Dontaie Allen.

Moore also said that seeing an empty Diddle Arena was one of the most significant aspects of his official vist to Western Kentucky because it was potentially where he could play. Now, Moore is officially a Hilltopper.
