Bobby Petrino continued to piece together his coaching staff on Tuesday by adding the two main ingredients to what many hope will be a recipe for success. Let's meet the new coordinators!
Jeff Brohm was officially named assistant head coach and offensive coordinator at Tuesday's press conference. Brohm spent last season as UAB's offensive coordinator, the Blazers averaged 419.1 yards of total offense per game. If you dissect that number further, UAB averaged 308.8 yards by way of air and 110.2 yard by way of ground.
He has a knack for developing quarterbacks, working with the likes of Nathan Scheelhaase (Illinois), his brother Brian Brohm, and my personal favorite, the crafty-lefty Stephan LeFors during his time at Louisville.
Brohm reunites with Petrino after serving as quarterbacks coach under Petrino's reign from 2003-2006 at Louisville.
After spending one year as the on-campus Recruiting Coordinator at Arkansas, Nick Holt returns to a position he is familiar with, defensive coordinator. Before his stint at Arkansas, Holt was the defensive coordinator for the Washington Huskies from 2009-11 and held the same position at USC (that's Southern Cal, not South Carolina) from 2006-2008.
Holt also served as the head coach at Idaho from 2004-05. Hey, anytime you can make a random Idaho reference, you do it!
With Tuesday's press conference the new WKU coaching staff is now set in stone, or, at least in wet cement with a few familiar faces.
