TAMUCC transfer G Terrion Murdix commits to WKU
The Hilltoppers added another intriguing transfer target to the roster on Wednesday afternoon, landing a commitment from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi transfer guard Terrion Murdix.
After entering the transfer portal on July 10th, the 6-foot-1, 170-pound recruit out of Springfield, IL. recently stopped by Western Kentucky to visit with the Hilltoppers as well as reconnect with his former head coach and mentor Steve Lutz.
The former Islander and Southland Conference Player of the Year told InsideHilltopperSports.com that his visit was awesome as the campus was amazing and almost everything about WKU's program stood out to him.
Murdix said that it felt great to reconnect with Lutz and meet some of his new coaching staff as it's always great to be around people you know.
Murdix said that Western Kentucky seems like a great environment and liked how all of Lutz's coaching staff was outgoing.
During his two-year stint under Lutz at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Murdix recorded 11.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 0.1 blocks and 2.1 steals per game.
Murdix additionally shot 46.9% from the field, 35.9% from beyond the arc and 80.2% from the free throw line.
During his last year under Lutz, Murdix earned Southland Conference Defensive Player of the Year, averaging 13.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 0.2 blocks and 2.3 steals per game.
In his 2022-23 stint last season, Murdix additionally shot 48.9% from the field, 34.3% from three-point range and 82.6% from the free throw line.
