Trey Urquhart says WKU "felt like home"

- FOOTBALL COMMIT LIST - URQUHART HIGHLIGHTS - WKU LEADS FOR FLA. QB

Over the weekend, Western Kentucky picked up their latest commitment from North Cobb (Ga.) athlete Trey Urquhart, who felt at home during a recent visit to campus last month.

"The atmosphere on gameday was just amazing when I went on my visit last month. It felt at home to me," Urquhart noted.

"Nice campus, nice facilities and the program is on the come up. I’ve built great relationships with the coaches. Especially coach (Mike) Sanford through Notre Dame starting quarterback Brandon Wimbush. The coaches have strong resumes and plus they sent 11 guys to the league just last year."

The Hilltoppers' see the 3-star rated prospect as a versatile defender that can play multiple positions on defense while also making an impact on offense and special teams.

"The coaches plan on using me as a nickel saftey/linebacker. Like how Michigan used Jabrill Peppers. Expect to see me on offense and returning kicks."

The 6-foot-1, 200-pound prospect has built a strong relationship with safeties coach Jami DeBerry throughout his recruiting process with WKU.

"He’s a fired up coach, his voice tells it all, he’s energetic and takes a lot of pride in getting the right guys for the program."

With Urquhart in the fold, Western Kentucky now has 20 total commitment in the 2018 class.
