WKU lands Ga. QB Davis Shanley

MORE: Emerging Ga. QB checks out WKU

Western Kentucky picked up their tenth commitment in the 2017 class in South Forsyth (Ga.) quarterback Davis Shanley. The 6-foot-2, 180-pound prospect announced his pledge on Twitter Saturday night.

Shanley described the factors that played the biggest part in his decision:

"The relationship I had with the coaches and the unlimited opportunity to be the best athlete and student that I can be."

The Georgia product is very familiar with the Hilltopper program, he first visited campus back in April then made the trip to Western Kentucky's satellite camp in Gallatin (Tenn.) in June, where he shined in front of the coaching staff and propelled himself as the top quarterback target.

Last season, the rising senior passed for 2,375 yards and 25 touchdowns, connecting on 63% of his passes. He also rushed for an additional 715 yards and eight touchdowns.

He was named Forsyth County offensive player of the year.

Shanley chose WKU over offers from Old Dominion, Kent State, Mercer, and others.
