Knoxville Karns’ (Tn.) Bryson Garrett is a name to remember. The class of 2018 prospect excelled as a sophomore, and he is poised for a solid junior season. The 6-foot 4-inch, 277-pound lineman saw plenty action last season as he played a variety of roles along the offensive line splitting time between center and tackle. The Knoxville (Tn.) product talks about the strengths of his game.
“The strengths of my game are my footwork and my ability to use my hands when the defensive end or defensive tackle is coming at me. I also use my strength and power to stop them from being able to reach the quarterback,” said Garrett.
Garrett recently had an impressive showing at the NPA/TNGS Combine that took place at Alcoa High School earlier this month. He won many one on one battles and competed well against multiple guys with division 1 offers. Despite his impressive showing, Garrett has some things he wants to improve on before the start of the season.
“I am working on playing with better leverage and being able to stay low. I also want to be more flexible in my hips, and I want to be more explosive in everything I do,”said Garrett.
Garrett currently does not have any offers on the table, but this is sure to change soon with the size and abilities he possesses. He is receiving interest from Tennessee, Virginia Tech, and Chattanooga. Garrett is planning on putting his name out there this summer as he is planning on camping at Tennessee, Virginia Tech, Appalachian State, Kentucky, and Chattanooga.
Garrett’s recruitment is in the early stages, but the Knoxville lineman already knows what he is looking for in a program.
“I am looking for a quality program that is going to teach me in the classroom and also on the field. I want find a school that has quality coaching that can show me the correct technique on the field. I also want a school that offers a great education and can help me be the best student possible,” said Garrett.
