The Hilltoppers added some major strength to their defensive line, this week, landing a commitment from Edwin Moore Jr., an intriguing defensive tackle out of Columbia (Ga.), that announced he was officially a Hilltopper following his unofficial visit.
The 6-foot-3, 280-pound recruit out of Decatur, GA. sat down with InsideHilltopperSports.com to detail his commitment to Western Kentucky, revealing what ultimately led to his decision.
Moore said that what led to his commitment to the Hilltoppers is the bond he built with WKU assistant coach and defensive line coach Carson Hall. Moore said the fact that he was from Georgia and played for the Bulldogs in college contributed to his decision.
He added that another aspect of Western Kentucky that convinced him it was home was the overall effort of the Hilltoppers' coaching staff and the outstanding facilities.
Moore said that he's confident the Hilltoppers' coaching staff will help to develop him both physically and mentally. He added that another thing he loves about Western Kentucky is that it's not that far from home.
Moore said that Western Kentucky has been involved in his recruitment process for a while, initially catching him in action at a practice.
This past weekend, Moore visited the Hilltoppers on an unofficial visit. He said that he will be back at Western Kentucky this fall to take his official visit.
During his unofficial visit, Moore said that he connected with WKU defensive lineman Hosea Wheeler, who gave him a tour of the facilities.
In addition to involvement from Western Kentucky in his recruitment process, Moore also held a number of other significant opportunities.
Moore also held notable offers from Appalachian State, James Madison, Middle Tennessee, Tulane and UConn.
