Western Kentucky added significant strength to their offensive line this week, landing a commitment from offensive lineman Daviyon Hawkins-Ingram, an intriguing recruiting target out of Cocoa (Fla.) in the class of 2024.

The Hilltoppers' newest commit sat down with InsideHilltopperSports.com to detail his recruitment with Western Kentucky, revealing what ultimately led to his commitment to the program.

Hawkins-Ingram said that it feels great to be a Hilltopper and what led to his decision was how WKU's coaching staff interacted with their players and recruits, and how it felt like home as soon as he stepped foot on campus.

"Being a Hilltopper feels great, I love it. And what made me commit was the way they interacted and cared for their players. It felt like home as soon as I stepped on campus. They made my mom and I feel welcomed."

Hawkins-Ingram said that the Hilltoppers have been in the mix for the last few months as he's been in contact with all of WKU's coaches.

Out of all the coaches he's talked to from the staff, Hawkins-Ingram said he constantly communicated with WKU assistant coach, co-offensive coordinator and offensive line coach Zach Lankford throughout his recruitment.

"The Hilltoppers have been involved for a few months. All of the coaches have been in touch with me constantly, especially Coach Lankford. They made it known that they wanted me since day one. I think WKU is the best place for me, I love everything about it."

Hawkins-Ingram said that he was on campus recently, stopping by Western Kentucky for an unofficial visit this past weekend.

Hawkins-Ingram said that what stood out about Western Kentucky was how much the community loves the team and the Hilltoppers' facilities.

"I took an unofficial this past weekend. What stood to me the most was how everyone around campus loves the football team. Everyone loves one another there. And the facilities are one of the best, way better than what people think."

Hawkins-Ingram chose Western Kentucky over Bethune-Cookman, Charlotte, Florida Atlantic, Liberty, Massachusetts, Missouri State, North Alabama, Purdue and South Florida.
