Western Kentucky added some more firepower to next year's roster yesterday, landing a commitment from Rodney Tisdale Jr., a high-level quarterback out of First Coast (Fla.) in the class of 2024.

The 6-foot-2, 183-pound gunslinger out of Jacksonville, FL. sat down with InsideHilltopperSports.com to detail his commitment to Western Kentucky, revealing what ultimately led to his decision.

Tisdale said that it feels awesome to be a Hilltopper, adding that what led to his commitment was how the team made him feel during his unofficial visit. Tisdale also said his interactions with the coaches made a big difference as well.

"It feels awesome to be a Hilltopper. Really just the way the guys on the team already treated me as family as soon as I got there, giving me that brother feeling. Also the coaches were really excited about seeing me, showing me around the campus and things of that nature."

Tisdale said that he had an opportunity to connect with WKU head coach Tyson Helton and had a great conversation, adding that he likes how Coach Helton is straight to the point and taught him things about sports and life.

"Got a chance to talk to the head coach. He was really cool and straight to the point, teaching me things about not only sports but about the life aspect of it too."

Tisdale said that the Hilltoppers jumped into the mix for his recruitment about a month and a half ago as he initially connected with WKU director of scouting Zach Kramme.

The rising senior from the Sunshine State added that shortly after talking with Coach Kramme, he began talking with assistant coach, offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Drew Hollingshead.

"Western Kentucky has been recruiting me for about a month and a half. I initially connected with Coach Kramme and then Coach Drew."
