3-star TE Darius Pittman commits to WKU

Western Kentucky extended their streak of consecutive days with commitments to three on Monday as St. Stanislaus (Miss.) tight end Darius Pittman announced his pledge on Twitter.

When asked why he chose the Hilltoppers, Pittman replied "style of offense, it's away from Mississippi, it's a winning program, and Tight End University baby!"

The 3-star rated prospect received an offer from the Hilltoppers on July 27th and recently announced a top three of Western Kentucky, South Alabama, and Colorado State.

At 6-foot-3, 225-pounds, Pittman provides the Hilltoppers with a big-bodied, pass-catching tight end that can thrive in their offensive system.

"My school's team does a lot of the same stuff WKU does on offense. So I think the coaches like that I am already experienced in that type of offense. I can also run routes and catch the football like a receiver," Pittman told InsideHilltopperSports.com after he received his offer.

Pittman has yet to visit Western Kentucky, but plans to sometime soon. While committed, the Mississippi product does plan to keep his options open.
