Following the conclusion of the 2023 NFL Draft, former WKU wide receiver Daewood Davis, a significant offensive weapon for the Hilltoppers last season, signed an undrafted free agency contract with the Miami Dolphins.
Davis transferred to Western Kentucky from Oregon prior to the start of the 2021 campaign, competing on the Hilltoppers' offense for two seasons.
Davis was a crucial component of two top-10 offensive units during his last two seasons at Western Kentucky as the Hilltoppers were second in the nation in total offense in 2021 and seventh in the country in the 2022 campaign.
Davis played a major role as he helped facilitate both quarterbacks Bailey Zappe and Austin Reed, who both led the country in passing at the helm of WKU's offense.
In 23 games in a Hilltopper uniform, Davis hauled in 80 receptions for 1,318 yards and 12 touchdowns. Davis was additionally one of most efficient deep threats in all of college football, picking up 16.5 yards per catch.
At the end of the 2022 season, Davis was recognized for his offensive performance, earning the status of C-USA Honorable Mention.
Prior to his collegiate start with Oregon, the 6-foot-2, 195-pound wide receiver out of Fort Lauderdale, FL. was a three-star recruiting target with a 5.5 rating. Davis was also ranked the No. 97 prospect in the state of Florida.
