Dishan Romine joins HS teammate, commits to WKU
The commitments continue to roll in for the WKU football program.

Dishan Romine, a runningback from Dupont Manual High School in Louisville, made his commitment to the Hilltoppers Sunday night, July 8.
The 5-foot-10 rising senior is the second commitment for the Hilltoppers in three days from Dupont Manual, as Romine joins his high school teammate and best friend Juwan Gardner (July 6) in choosing WKU.
"I talked to my Mom and told her how much I liked WKU," Romine said. "I looked at their programs; they have a lot of good programs I can study there.
"It just seemed like the best place."
The rising senior chose WKU over offers from Toledo, Wofford, Harvard, Cornell, and Columbia, with Cincinnati, Ball State, Kentucky, Michigan, and Missouri also showing interest.
He made his commitment official by calling both Coach Hampton and Coach Taggart.
"I'm all for Coach Taggart's vision," Romine said. "He wants to make WKU a powerhouse."
Package deal
Romine said he's been thinking about committing ever since his good friend Gardner committed to WKU on July 6.
"That's my best friend," Romine said. "He lives right around the corner from me, we're together all the time.
"Now we get to go college together and play together, it's great."
Romine says his biggest goal for his senior year is to lead his team to state, but he has individual goals in mind too.
"I want to be a leader both on and off the field," he said. "Get good grades, be the best student-athlete I can be.
"As for on the field, last year I was one of the top 10 runningbacks in the state. This year, I'd love to be the No. 1 leading rusher in the state."
Romine is the No. 6 overall commitment for the Hilltoppers in the Class of 2013.
