A wicked and wild fourth quarter, three overtimes, a Ryan Nuss 37-yard game winning field goal, a victory over a hated rival, and bowl eligible for the seventh consecutive year.

It was a euphoric Friday night in Bowling Green and happy hour started a shade past 11 p.m. for the Hilltopper faithful as the football team notched a 41-38 win over Middle Tennessee and secured their sixth win of the season.

For Western Kentucky fans, they earn another year of cashing in those hate checks in excessive Twitter smack talk battles with Blue Raider fans.

QUICK HITS:

- Mike White was spectacular once again, going 39 of 54 for 485 yards and five touchdowns. White spread the wealth to eight different receives, stayed poised in the pocket, and flexed an NFL arm on the Blue Raiders' defense.

- The biggest beneficiaries of White's air assault was Lucky Jackson, Kylen Towner, and Nacarius Fant. All went for over 100 yards with Jackson and Towner hauling in 93 and 65-yard touchdown bombs respectively. Fant was all over the field, hauling in 14 catches.

- The stats may show another disappointing effort in net total rushing yards, but WKU was relatively productive in the running game against MTSU on Friday night. D'Andre Ferby was able to move the chains a few times and keep drives alive. He finished with 21 carries for 64 yards.

- WKU's defense was stellar for three quarters, then things got weird. Fast forward to the third overtime and the Hilltoppers' gutted up and came up with the biggest stop of the night and left MTSU kicker Canon Rooker with a 42-yard attempt, which sailed wide left.

- That led to Ryan Nuss from 37-yards out...BANG! Bowl eliglible!
