The 6-foot-3, 290-pound offensive lineman out of Murfreesboro, TN. sat down with InsideHilltopperSports.com to detail his commitment to Western Kentucky, revealing what ultimately led to his decision.

"I'm excited to get to work, it was a very long and often times stressful process considering I entered the portal back in November, but I am content and relieved with it finally coming to an end."

Williams said there were a few things he wanted from a program and Western Kentucky checked all the boxes for him.

The newest member of the Hilltoppers' offensive line said having an opportunity to compete for a starting job, win a lot of football games and play with WKU quarterback Austin Reed, wide receiver Malachi Corley and others contributed to his decision.

I wanted to play for coaches I can trust, I wanted to live somewhere I would really enjoy and be close to home, and I wanted to be somewhere that offered me a great opportunity to compete for a starting job and win a lot of football games. WKU checked all these boxes for me and I'm excited to join an explosive offensive unit with guys like Austin, Malachi and others."

During his recruitment process with the Hilltoppers, Williams said that he connected with WKU assistant coach, offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Drew Hollingshead as well as assistant coach, co-offensive coordinator and offensive line coach Zach Lankford.

Williams said that what he likes about both Coach Hollingshead and Coach Lankford is that they're laid back and fun but know how to get down to business when needed.

"I think there's a great balance with the personalities among the coaches. Coach Lankford and Coach Drew are both really personable and laid back guys that like to have fun, but still have a lot of knowledge about the game and get down to business when needed."

Williams also said that WKU head coach Tyson Helton provides a great balance because he's direct and to the point, and has a great offensive mind.

"Coach Helton provides good balance in that he is short, direct and to the point. He's a highly respected coach at the FBS level and has a great offensive mind as well."

Williams said that he took an official visit to Western Kentucky on May 27th and met with WKU offensive lineman Mark Goode for dinner on his visit. He added that offensive lineman Vincent Murphy also congratulated him over social media.

Williams said that he was already familiar with Western Kentucky prior to his official visit because his friend lives close by and its his mom's alma mater.

"I came to WKU for an official visit on May 27th and drove back home the next morning. Having been up to WKU a couple times to visit one of my friends and because it's my mom's alma mater, I was already somewhat familiar with the campus."

In addition to liking the Hilltoppers' new locker room and football facilities, Williams said he will be close by and within walking distance.

"I was impressed with the new locker room, football facilities and the apartment I'll be moving into is an easy walk for everything."

During his career at Harvard in the 2021 campaign, Williams helped Harvard's offense become the second-best in the Ivy-League, appearing in nine games.

Last season, the former two-star offensive lineman appeared in all 10 contests, earning First-Team All-Ivy League honors.

Prior to his collegiate career with Harvard, Williams played high school football for Middle Tennessee Christian. Williams earned 2019 Offensive Lineman of the Year in his region and helped lead his team to a TSAA rushing yards record in the playoffs.
