WKU concluded its spring schedule with the annual spring football game last night, but not long after, the Toppers received some other discouraging news.
Two players, sophomore defensive lineman Tevin Holliman and redshirt freshman defensive back Ricardo Singh suffered non life-threatening gunshot wounds at Lava Lounge nightclub in Bowling Green near campus.
Police have not released any suspects and are still investigating.
Both players participated in the spring game last night.
The following statement was issued by WKU athletics:
"Tevin Holliman and Ricardo Singh each sustained a single gunshot wound last night outside the Lava Lounge, located off campus in Bowling Green. Neither Holliman or Singh were in possession of a gun. Both are receiving hospital care, and neither has sustained life threatening injuries. Head Coach Willie Taggart has spoken with the parents of each player. We are in the process of gathering more information.
"Holliman is a sophomore from Tucker, Georgia; Singh is a freshman from Auburndale, Florida."
