A synopsis of what Western Kentucky head coach Tyson Helton said during Monday's press conference. Army comes to Houchens-Smith Stadium on Saturday for a non-conference tilt.

- Looking forward to playing Army, mentions facing the triple-option offense which is something they haven't seen.

- Army's offense is hard to defend and limits your possessions offensively, so they need to make the most of them.

- All about positioning your best defensive players when facing a team like Army.

- Biggest thing for their defense is putting Army in 2nd-and-long situations and being able to force them to stretch the ball laterally.

- Says it will be another great test for the defense.

- Have prepped for Army since the spring, designating 10 minutes of practice in the spring and a whole period of practice (15 minutes) in the fall.

- Noted Gaej Walker's patient running approach against Old Dominion and how it paid off.

- Wants to be in that 100-120 yard rushing range every game, which will help the passing game.

- On Old Dominion: Was pleased with overall game plan and things they did, wasn't pleased with missed opportunity on the touchdown pass and taking a sack before halftime that put them out of field goal range.

- Says he's not surprised at the success of DeAngelo Malone, he's a high-motor guy and loves the game of football and said he's just in a good rhythm of the season.

- Credits the rest of the defensive line to the success Malone has had so far this season.

- Linebacker rotation is determined by style of opponents.

- Mentioned Damon Lowe and that he would be a good fit for the Old Dominion game and it was great to see him have that game.

- Didn't agree with Lowe's targeting call, said his head was up and only hit defender with the facemask. He didn't launch himself and he didn't hit the crown of the helmet. Said you have to meet all three factors for targeting and thought he only met the helmet to helmet factor.

- After the press conference, Helton said he's currently appealing Lowe's suspension but isn't expecting it to get reversed. Lowe will have to set out the first half of the Army game.
