In 2019, he was one of four running backs on NDSU's roster to rush for over 600 yards and ranked fourth in the Missouri Valley Conference with 12 rushing touchdowns.
During his sophomore campaign in 2018, he appeared in all 15 games for the Bison and rushed for 582 yards on 82 carries, tallying six touchdowns.
He appeared in the first six games as a redshirt freshman in 2017 before a season-ending injury.
In the Bison's lone game this season, Cofield had eight carries for three yards in a 39-28 win over Central Arkansas.
