Rafferty's Bowl Roundup

The 17th annual Rafferty's Bowl made for some intriguing matchups on Saturday inside Houchens-Smith Stadium at Western Kentucky University.

South Warren defeated Louisville (Ky.) Butler 33-20, while Father Ryan (Tenn.) squeaked by Bowling Green 24-21 by kicking a field goal with thirty-seconds remaining.

InsideHilltopperSports.com takes a closer look at the talented prospects on display during Saturday's action.

SOUTH WARREN 33 - BUTLER 20

- The Bears put up a helluva fight against South Warren and the Kentucky wide receiver commit was a big reason why. Watkins was a main focus of the offense and had nearly 150 yards receiving, including a 54-yard touchdown catch. He also displayed nice hands and concentration on another big gainer on a poorly under-thrown ball that was deflected in the air off a defensive back and landed in Watkins' hands. The Wildcats are definitely getting a talented playmaker on offense.

- Jackson showed why he is the anchor of South Warren's offensive line at left tackle on Saturday. The 6-foot-4, 270-pound prospect displayed good footwork and athleticism while easily getting into the second level and delivering additional blocks for the Spartans running game that eventually wore Butler down. The Hilltoppers are getting a very solid talent that will likely translate to a guard in college.

South Warren (Ky.) 2021 ATH Jantzen Dunn

- Being 6-foot-1, 180-pounds, Dunn size definitely sticks out when he lined up at cornerback on Saturday. The 2021 prospect used that size and athleticism to break up a couple of passes and get in on a handful of tackles. Dunn wasn't used much on offense, but his game and skill set translates to defense at the next level. Western Kentucky has already offered him as a defensive back and he also impressed at both Notre Dame and Kentucky camp stops this past summer.

FATHER RYAN (TENN.) 24 - BOWLING GREEN 21

- Tabscott has early offers from Kentucky, Purdue, Boston College and it was easy to see why on Saturday. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound prospect showed tremendous zip and accuracy on his passes and also made big plays with his legs in key situations. The rising junior threw three touchdowns (47, 53, 11) and showed great poise in leading his team down the field for the game-winning 23-yard field goal with thirty-seconds remaining.

- The Purples passing offense struggled on Saturday night, but the Rivals250 prospect was able to show off strong hands and haul in a couple of short passes that he turned up field for additional yards. The 6-foot-4, 225-pound prospect is a hybrid tight end that has good speed, lines up inside and outside, and is a reliable blocker that helped spring a few big runs for Bowling Green throughout the night.

Bowling Green (Ky.) 2020 safety DeVito Tisdale

- Tisdale didn't have an eye-popping performance, but that had a lot to do with Father Ryan kicking away from him on kickoffs and punts. The one punt Tisdale did get his hands on, he returned it for big yardage only to be negated by a penalty. The three-star prospect did miss a couple of tackles, but was in on his fair share as well and also showed what he's capable of when he blasted into the backfield on a blitz in the blink of an eye for a big tackle for loss.
