Has your size changed at all?
I've probably put on eight pounds, almost up to 270 now.
What does your workout routine entail?
Right now, I'm on the freshman workout. I workout Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and then on Tuesdays and Thursdays, I run the sprints and agility. Basically I'm just on the WKU program.
When do you plan on reporting to WKU?
It'll probably be July 10. Our graduation is so late. I think my parents decided it'd be best for me to stay down here and workout with the football team and come up in July.
What do you plan on working or improving on through this summer?
Every aspect of my game. To be able to compete on the offensive line at the Division I level, you've gotta be big enough and strong enough just to be able to compete. I feel like I've gotta put on some more weight and get stronger, press-wise and squat-wise and pretty much everything in the weight room just to be able to compete. The big thing for me when I get up there is gonna be mental, just used to everyone being good. When I went to the all-star game down here, that was it, just everyone was big and fast. Be great, that's what I wanna be.
How would you describe your playing style?
I'm just a smart, aggressive player, play physical, just do whatever it takes to beat the guy across from me. My mindset, I'm saying no matter if you're bigger than me, no matter if you're stronger than me, you're not better than me. I feel like I'm better than you a bunch. Nobody's gonna beat me. Being up here now with guys that are all-state players, guys that can play and are legit, I've gotta work even harder to be better. I'm trying to be the best, just trying to be that guy.
What are some of your goals for your first season as a Topper?
I wanna just get up there and compete. I wanna get more weight on me and get stronger to where I can compete for a starting job. Nobody wants to redshirt and Coach Taggart said don't come up here just thinking you're gonna redshirt. You've gotta come in and compete for a job. I wanna compete for playing time as a freshman and just try to make an impact and help this team be great. I don't wanna be 0-12 again or just be average, I wanna be great.
What's your favorite food?
For me, just put everything. I eat anything and everything. Someone asked me today, if I was picky about food. I said if it's edible, I'm gonna eat it. The other thing I thought was cool was mandatory breakfast. You've gotta go to breakfast every single day.
What is your favorite movie?
Dang. I don't even know. Pass.
Who is your favorite musician?
I guess I'll just go with my favorite type of music, R&B and soul. I'm just mellow and chill.
What would be three words to describe you?
Unique, original and outgoing
If you could date any celebrity, who would it be?
Beyonce
If you could pick a fight with any celebrity, who would it be?
I'm gonna go with the baddest boxer on earth, Floyd Mayweather.
What's been your most memorable experience playing football?
Sophomore year, we were picked to finish dead last in the region. We had about 30 guys on the team, no joke 30 guys. Everybody played both ways. I started and we ended up going 8-2 in the season, got in the playoffs and played No. 1 Riverdale who was undefeated. Everyone picked Riverdale to win and we won 35-13 in the playoffs. That was unbelievable. That was the first time we ever beat Riverdale.
