Tops land latest commitment from Nashville DB

Western Kentucky picked up their tenth commitment of the 2019 class on Wednesday when Maplewood (Tenn.) cornerback Travares Springer announced his decision on Twitter.

He discussed his decision with InsideHilltopperSports.com.

"WKU just showed me the most love," Springer noted. "It was close to home. The school is great not to big and not to small just right for me and they have a very successful program and I feel like I can help them go further."

Throughout the recruiting process, the two-star prospect has been hearing from safeties coach Jami DeBerry, defensive coordinator Clayton White, and head coach Mike Sanford

"They all are just good people they want to no more them just football they want to know what's going on in my life and how I'm living and they really are concerned about me as a person outside of football."

At 6-foot-1, 185-pounds, the coaching staff sees Springer being a difference maker at the cornerback position in college.

"I'm a big play guy, long rangy, great hands, great speed."

Springer chose the Hilltoppers over a Top 10 that included the likes of Middle Tennessee, Southern Miss, Miami (Oh.), and others.
