The Tops once again took advantage of the national spotlight on Thursday, defeating the Memphis Tigers 75-69 to advance to the finals of Bad Boy Mowers Crossover Classic on Friday where they will face No. 15 West Virginia at 12 p.m.

For Western Kentucky, Thursday's win saw Charles Bassey put together a masterful 21 point, 14 rebound, and seven block performance that caught the attention of many national hoops pundits.

It was also a big game for Carson Williams as well, who poured in 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds while Taveion Hollingsworth chipped in with 18 points.

Kenny Cooper also had eight points, five rebounds, and four assists.

Landers Nolley II, a former Virginia Tech transfer, led Memphis with 25 points, netting six three-pointers on the day.

The Hilltoppers outrebounded Memphis 44-32 and went on an 14-4 run in the second half to gain a 48-39 advantage with 13:31 left to play. A lead they wouldn't relinquish.

Once again, WKU was clutch from the free throw line down the stretch, going 19 of 24 for the game.
