There's a lot of decisions that will be made during WKU's Spring Game draft on Friday. But there will be plenty of moves made even before then.

The backbone has been set already for the April 16 spring game. Assistant Walter Wells has been named the coach of the Red team, while assistant Lance Guidry has been named coach of the White team. InsideHilltopperSports.com's Jason Stamm has also been named the "director of media relations' for the Red team. We'll have reports from both sides, though slightly more on the Red team.
Now, the game's coaches are preparing their draft boards. Both teams will also be able to select two free agents each, that will bypass the draft, which will be held after practice on Friday.
The Red team already has a few candidates that have emerged as potential selections for their top pick. They include junior defensive end Jared Clendenin and redshirt freshman safety Kiante Young.
"I'm not really surprised because they picked me last year real high," Clendenin said. "I figured I'd probably get picked high again. I was surprised last year though."
Clendenin said that if he were selected with the Red team's top pick, he would try his best to live up to the expectations.
"I'd probably just do whatever I can to help the team win," he said. "That'd be the main thing if I was picked."
Clendenin also said that it hasn't quite been the type of spring he would've hoped he'd be playing. That doesn't mean that he's not still hungry to show he's one of WKU's best.
"I try to practice hard and stuff like that, be a leader," he said. "I just try to lead by example. I guess that's why they might pick me like that."
Potential free agents for the Red team include quarterbacks Brandon Doughty and Kawaun Jakes, as well as redshirt freshman running back Keshawn Simpson and sophomore defensive lineman Rammell Lewis.
Stay tuned this week for more updates.
