JUCO PF target details weekend official to WKU

A couple of days ago, we featured a story on four-star West Oaks (Fla.) combo guard Selton Miguel and his official visit to Western Kentucky.

It turns out his older brother, Rifen Miguel, a power forward at Tallahassee (Fla.) C.C. and current WKU target, also took an official visit to the The Hill at the same time.

Rifen, who will have two years of eligibility remaining when he signs, went in-depth on his weekend visit to Western Kentucky with InsideHilltopperSports.com.

- On his overall visit to Western Kentucky:

"It was a good visit. I never thought they would that type of facilities, so I was really impressed with that. I like the coaching staff as well."

- On his relationship with the coaching staff:

"I like all the coaches. I like their personalities and they keep it real with you too. They want to see me getting better and make me better, so I really like their coaching staff."

- On when WKU got involved in his recruiting process:

"They started recruiting me when we had a tournament (this summer) in Alabama and the coaches were there. They saw me there and offered me."

- What do the coaches like about your skills and abilities:

"They are possibly losing their four and their five, so they see me as playing the three or four. I can score with my back to the rim and I'm a good shooter, so I can score on different levels. I play inside and outside."

- On other possible official visits:

"I haven't planned anything else out right now, but I'm about to. Right now, for the summer, I'm done with visits. Western Kentucky was my only official visit for the summer."

- On other schools showing him interest:

"Cincinnati, Middle Tennessee, UAB, South Florida, and UCF."

- On when he started playing basketball:

"I started playing when I was eight or nine. I was playing back home (in Angola) and eventually got invited to the nationals and when I went to the national team, that's when high school teams started recruiting me."
